I began my karate journey as an administrator for the KUGB Southern Region of the UK, where I assisted with the organisation of gradings and competitions in the south, and the annual National Championships. I did this for ten years before I decided, at the age of 45, to start training. Since then I have trained hard at my club, Red Lion SKC (Eastbourne), attended many national training sessions, gradings and competitions, worked through my own gradings, and now enjoy being a 2nd dan.
I am employed by the University of Brighton where I am a principal lecturer, and Associate Dean of the School of Sport and Health Sciences.
I feel very privileged and excited to be the Membership and Affiliation Manager for Shotokan Nation.
