This month our very own Georges Dussart appears in the world renown “Shotokan Karate Magazine”.
The article in Shotokan Karate Magazine gives an insight as to how consistent, dedicated karate training and the quality of our techniques can blend with our “Zen mind” to foster better understanding of ourselves and put a new and vibrant context to our lives.
There is also a discussion of how Georges starting Shotokan karate back in the late 1960s and plots the fascinating path through university professorship, reflections of Zen as a way of being, family life and stories of the early days of Shotokan’s introduction into the UK.
As a Founder Member of Shotokan Connect, Georges established and encouraged our focus on equality and diversity within our association, teaching his unique and thoughtful brand of karate from his Club based in Canterbury. Widely respected he provides a thoughtful, academic and effective view of Shotokan practice, and this is emphasized through his participation in the Shotokan Connect Quality Assurance Committee.
Georges Dussart is Emeritus Professor at Canterbury University, 6th Dan in Shotokan Karate and teaches weekly at Sochin Karate Club in Canterbury.
